The Hobgoblin Chariot is the rolling thunder of the Sons of Marduk hobgoblin auxiliary — a war machine of spiked wheels, demonic-wolf draught, and a three-strong crew of charioteers who have learned the hard way that there is no second pass in chariot warfare. You hit on the first attempt or you die under the wheels of your own follow-up. The two wolves harnessed to the chariot are not steppe-bred mounts. They are abyssal-blooded predators that the hobgoblin clans have spent ten generations selectively breeding for one quality only — the willingness to keep running straight at a wall of spearpoints. They howl in unison as they charge. The chariot itself is a Mesopotamian-influenced war-vehicle of carved hardwood, iron-banded wheels with cruel outward-facing spikes that turn the chariot's wheels into a secondary weapon system, and a banner of carnage flying from the rear standard-pole that the crew has not bothered to wash since they took it. The three charioteers ride armed with spear, bow, and the unspoken understanding that they go in together or they do not come out. One handles the wolves. One braces the spear-haft against the chariot rail for the impact. One stands ready at the bow, picking off targets in the gap between charges. They wear the patched hide-and-iron of their clan, their faces painted in the death-marks of their war-band, their armor still echoing with the dents of the last engagement they survived. This is not a finesse weapon. This is a tactical hammer, swung at speed, aimed at the part of the enemy line the Marduk commanders have decided cannot hold.
