The Hobgoblin Warriors are the core infantry of the Sons of Marduk hobgoblin auxiliary — the rank-and-file backbone of every Marduk warband, the ones who form the shield wall, who march in the cadence-step of the steppe-tradition, who carry the curved hand-weapon and the round shield into the close-combat work the heavy chaos-dwarven infantry cannot always be everywhere to handle. They are not the assassins. They are not the bow-line. They are not the cavalry. They are the line. They are the unit that holds the formation when the heavier chaos-dwarven warriors push the spearhead through, the secondary infantry the priesthood relies on to broaden the front, secure the flanks, and finish whatever the heavy guard has left behind. Each warrior wears the segmented armor of the hobgoblin warband-tradition, his shield blazoned with the round-disc heraldry of his clan, his curved blade slung at his hip and ready in his hand depending on what the captain has just signaled. His face carries the typical hobgoblin grimace — filed teeth, restrained fury, the long-cultivated expression of a soldier who has been told from childhood that the southern world owes him a debt and he has come to collect it personally. The modular hand-weapon system means each model in the warband can be assembled with a different blade or polearm option, giving you flexibility to mix-and-match weapon styles across the formation to match your army's aesthetic. The captain at the head of the unit raises the standard. The musician howls the cadence. The bannerman holds the warband-mark steady through every shift in the line.
