The Sons of Marduk Warriors are the core infantry of the chaos-dwarven army — the rank-and-file backbone of every Marduk warband, the soldiers the priesthood has been training in the same disciplined formations since the original Mesopotamian campaigns. They are the line. They are the unit the Heavy Guard advances behind, the unit the Cultists rage forward from, the unit the Shooters fire over the heads of. Without the Marduk Warriors, there is no Marduk army. Each warrior wears the segmented laminar armor of the chaos-dwarven core-tradition, the plates dyed in the dark-bronze of the regular line and engraved with the volcanic runes of his clan-forge. His beard is braided with the small steel rings of the disciplined ranks, the count of campaigns recorded in the binding-pattern, his eyes burning with the patient defiance of a soldier who has been told from childhood that the southern world owes him a debt and will eventually settle it. His shield is a cursed disc of forged iron, blazoned with the cuneiform name of his Marduk-line ancestor, scarred with the wear of formations he has stood in for years at a time. His hand-weapon is the black axe of the chaos-dwarven warband — short-hafted, heavy-headed, designed for the close-combat work that decides the engagement once the lines have committed. The modular hand-weapon system means each model in the warband can be assembled with a different blade or polearm option, giving you flexibility to mix-and-match weapon styles across the formation to match your army's aesthetic. The Captain at the head of the unit raises the standard. The Musician carries the formation-horn whose tone has been the cadence of the Marduk line for three thousand years. The Bannerman holds the regiment-mark steady through every shift in the line. And the Warriors march — disciplined, patient, the foundation that every other Marduk unit relies on to hold the field while the elites do their work.
